Cacao Tea is made during our winnowing process, where we separate the husk (outside shell) of the nibs when we are making chocolate. Brewing this husk will create an excellent hot chocolate tasting tea, though not as milky. This tea, depending on how much husk you brew will make over 6 cups of tea.
Here is the recipe:
- 1/4 cup of husk
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- Steep for 5 minutes
- Add heavy whipping cream (optional) and cane sugar to taste. We have found that 1 T of both heavy whipping cream and sugar is just right for us.
